Our MissionOur Mission

The reality is that as much as 1/4 of direct greenhouse gas emissions come from agriculture.

According to the IPCC report, greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture are the largest direct source of emissions, accounting for as much as a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions, about the same amount as emissions from the energy sector.
Within GHG emissions, a large portion consists of methane. The IPCC report revealed that CH4 (methane) has a greenhouse effect 25 times greater than CO2 over 100 years and 84 times greater over 20 years.
Of the 9.4 billion tons of methane emitted by human activities worldwide (in 2020, equivalent to China's CO2 emissions), the agricultural sector accounts for 37%.
(Cattle burping (Enteric fermentation) accounts for 27%, rice farming for 7%, and manure management for 3%.)

There is an urgent need to achieve methane reduction in the livestock industry
and create an environment where it can be exchanged for economic value.

In fact, there are already many ways to reduce methane in the livestock industry.
There are various innovations in feeding and making compost, but a variety of reasons prevent those measures from being widespread.
There are also issues such as the additional work required to add another task to the current farm work, and the compatibility of the work with the breeding method.
This barrier of increased labor and costs is the bottle neck, and the key point for the solution.
We see an urgent need to promote the creation of a market for decarbonizing agriculture by matching large companies in the industry that have no clear approach to decarbonization and farmers who have a clear approach but are not yet ready to take action.

We are working with livestock farmers in Hokkaido to achieve methane reduction in the livestock industry
and to create an ecosystem where it can be exchanged as economic value.

We can establish a unique carbon credit chain
and match "Large companies in the industry that need to decarbonize but have no clear approach to do so"
with "farmers who have a clear approach but are not working on it"
to decarbonize agriculture.
